Speculation about the couple’s divorce began when fans observed Mouni and Suraj unfollowing each other on Instagram. Several reports said some photos of their wedding were deleted from Instagram leading to further speculations about their divorce on social media. Until this public statement, neither Mouni nor Suraj spoke about the rumours.
In her statement, Mouni said that she and Suraj “mutually decided to move on in our lives separately with kindness and compassion.” She further added that they condemn rumours and misrepresentation by media outlets. “Please respect our decision to not discuss further,” she added.
Roy and Nambiar got married in January last year in Goa and had both Bengali and South Indian ceremonies. Prior to their marriage, they kept their relationship private. Fans loved seeing them together during public events and on social media over the years.
