Tom Cruise is reportedly worried about his romantic future following his ex-wife Katie Holmes’ public debut of her new relationship. Sources close to the actor say he feels lonely and is concerned about being seen as undateable.

Holmes, 47, went Instagram official with artist Jason Bard Yarmosky, 39, in early September. The couple has since been photographed together in Italy and at New York Fashion Week.

A source told In Touch that Cruise, 64, wishes Holmes happiness but struggles with the situation. ‘Tom isn’t bad mouthing Katie. He doesn’t begrudge her finding a happy relationship,’ the source said. ‘In fact, he’s adamant that he wishes nothing but happiness for her.’

The source added that Holmes was the last person Cruise was truly in love with. ‘But that doesn’t change the fact that she was truly the last time he was in love,’ the source said. ‘Of course the idea of her finding love with someone else highlights his loneliness.’

Holmes and Yarmosky were first seen together in July at a screening in East Hampton, New York. A source told People that the pair have become close quickly. ‘Katie feels very comfortable with him. She’s having a lot of fun,’ the source said.

Yarmosky is a New York-based artist whose work explores themes of aging, time, and memory. His paintings have been displayed at the Brooklyn Museum and other venues across the country.

Past Relationships Have Fizzled

Since his 2012 divorce from Holmes, Cruise has been linked to several women, including Mission: Impossible costar Hayley Atwell, Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova, and actress Ana de Armas. None of the relationships developed into long-term commitments.

A source claimed that the end of his rumored romance with de Armas was particularly difficult. ‘Ana was someone he had very high hopes for, but that fizzled pretty quickly and she wasted no time moving on, which certainly didn’t help his ego,’ the source said.

De Armas, 38, was photographed in Los Angeles with venture capitalist Marcelo Valente about a month after news of her breakup with Cruise emerged. She has also been seen recently with musician Beto Montenegro.

Sources Point to Career and Religion

Sources close to Cruise told the Daily Mail that his demanding career and commitment to Scientology have made lasting relationships difficult. ‘Tom has difficulty sustaining relationships because he puts his career first,’ one source said. ‘Everything revolves around making movies.’

Another source echoed that assessment. ‘He’s also very devoted to Scientology, which can be an issue for women who don’t share that religion,’ the source said.

Friends have reportedly tried to help. Victoria Beckham, a longtime friend of Cruise, has attempted to introduce him to potential partners. ‘He’s not desperate to find love, even though his close friend Victoria Beckham is always trying to set him up with a pretty young thing,’ a source said.

Suri’s Name Change Adds Strain

The situation is further complicated by Cruise’s estrangement from his daughter Suri, 20, whom he shares with Holmes. Suri has reportedly dropped ‘Cruise’ from her name in public records, using Suri Noelle instead.

A source described the name change as painful for Cruise. ‘It’s crushing,’ the source said. Cruise has not been publicly photographed with his daughter since 2012.

Sources say Cruise still hopes to find a lasting relationship. ‘I know Tom would love to get married again and have it last, he wants a solid relationship. Like anyone, he wants to be in love,’ one insider said.

Holmes, meanwhile, continues to appear publicly with Yarmosky. The two were photographed holding hands and sitting together in the front row at the Cult Gaia Spring/Summer 2027 show during New York Fashion Week on September 9.
