Pop superstar Dua Lipa and British actor Callum Turner secretly got married over the weekend, reportedly in London, England, for an intimate civil ceremony. News of their marriage and venue—Old Marylebone Town Hall—was confirmed by several outlets.
Although fans are rejoicing in the news of the singer and actor’s nuptials, they’re also intrigued by their unique love story. Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have had what many are calling a romantic comedy relationship of run-ins and connecting with the same people before they even met.
According to a previous interview with British Vogue, Dua Lipa said she and Callum Turner have had “a few Sliding Doors moments.” Before the couple met and started dating, they reportedly ran into each other a few times but didn’t realize it until much later.
Lipa explained that when she was working as a waitress/hostess at a restaurant in Soho, London back in 2014, Turner frequented the area around that time too. The two never met during these so-called coincidences, but they also attended the same events years before they became romantically involved, according to Lipa.
The singer recalled seeing old photos from the events and realizing they were there. They officially met through a mutual friend at London’s River Café and officially hit it off after another coincidence in Los Angeles.
Months later, they ran into each other in LA where they were both reading the same book, Trust by Hernan Diaz. “We bumped into each other and we were on the same page of the same book!” Lipa shared. They quickly talked about the book, and a relationship soon blossomed. The couple were first seen together in early 2024, later announcing their engagement in 2025.
Since then, the pair has kept their romance mostly to themselves but have given fans a few peeks into their lives. Sources say that the wedding was supposed to be low-key because of the power couple’s desire to keep things private despite their celebrity status.
However, many outlets are reporting that a bigger celebration will be occurring sometime this year for friends and family.
